What changed in Palworld 1.0

Pocketpair released Palworld 1.0 on July 10, 2026. The official changelog says the update adds 72 Pals: 47 new Pals and 25 variant Pals, bringing the official total to 287. It also introduces Awakening and Mutation, reworks Partner Skills for more than 200 Pals, and rebalances stats and abilities across the roster.

Those additions are a good reason to recheck an old breeding note before using it. A parent or offspring may have a new form, a familiar name may now sit beside new records, and community datasets need a 1.0-compatible update before they can support the new roster accurately.

Mutation and new Cakes

Mutation is a new 1.0 breeding mechanic. Pocketpair describes it as a low-chance event that can produce a Pal stronger than the normal result. A Pal born from a mutated egg has higher stats and a unique passive skill.

Four new Cakes change what you can pursue at the Breeding Farm. Mushroom Cake slightly raises the likelihood of better stats. Vegetable Cake produces two eggs. Deluxe Vegetable Cake increases the likelihood of Mutation and stat growth. Special Cake improves the chance that several passive skills are inherited from the parents.

The official changelog does not provide a numeric Mutation chance. Use the Mutation calculator only with a per-egg estimate you choose, and read the breeding Cakes guide before spending ingredients on a specific breeding goal.

Latest patch status: v1.0.2.101103

Pocketpair followed the 1.0 launch with v1.0.1, v1.0.2, a PC mod-stability update, and v1.0.2.101103. The newest published hotfix, dated July 30, 2026, fixes an infinite loading screen after the World Tree boss. The broader v1.0.2 notes focus on missions, achievements, controls, World Tree presentation, performance, and multiplayer boss problems.

Those published notes do not list a change to breeding combinations, Cake effects, Mutation rules, or the official Pal count. You do not need to replace a current 1.0 parent route merely because the game moved from 1.0 to 1.0.2. If an in-game result still disagrees with this site, first confirm the exact forms and genders, then send the pair and game version so the underlying community data can be checked.

Calculator status

The calculator uses PalCalc v1.17.6 with data version v26. It exposes 299 searchable records and forms and 44,851 breeding combinations. PalCalc’s release notes describe v1.17.6 as adding further save-reader changes for 1.0 compatibility.

The 299 data records are not the same measurement as Pocketpair’s 287 official Pals. Variant and breeding forms can be separate records in the community dataset. Keeping those counts separate avoids making one number look like an official roster claim.

Check an older combination

Use the home calculator to enter the two parents again, including their forms and genders. If you only know the offspring, use Find parent pairs. The result URL can be shared so another player sees the same setup.

If an older guide disagrees, compare its publication date with the July 2026 release and check whether it explicitly supports Palworld 1.0. A pre-1.0 table should not be treated as current without another check. The new Pal combinations browser narrows the dataset to offspring records added between the last pre-1.0 PalCalc release and the current 1.0-compatible release.
